make sure that your embed tag includes:

allowFullscreen="true"

It's possible this attribute was filtered out when you posted it.

Did you use the standard embed tag?

Is it possible to create a slideshow or video slideshow and save it to your flash drive. Then once you save it to your flash drive access the slideshow without internet access. I need to display the slideshow at a meeting but there will be no internet.

Yes, Pro members can download their slideshows.

Also, you could convert your slideshow to video for free using the Video Creator.  (link below)

Hey geoff,

Any word on if you may release an update with more features soon? Such as changing the amount of rows/columns in all galleries, the option to put thumbnails on the left or right, a next button for the thumbnail galleries so you dont have to click on each individual thumbnail? or a play/pause feature that will simulate a slideshow? Im fairly certain these are standard features with most image galleries, so any info would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Hi!

Those are all great ideas.  I'll consider putting them in the next update.  I cannot promise any dates for you at this time.

Some of the features you mentioned are already included in some of the layouts.  The next button is included in the embed layout and the banner layout, as well as the autoplay button.

The only feature that is not in there at all is the ability to choose column layout and left or right-hand layout.  I'll have to think of a way to do this that is easy to use.

Thanks!

really, any gallery with thumbnails should have a next button and play/pause controls. It just makes viewing easier ya know?

Thanks Geoff, great product.

You can see your product in use on my site, www.petemaresco.com

I'd like to see a button, badge or widget that I can place on my blog and that will take my readers directly to my Slideroll Gallery or Slideshow.  Forgive me if this already exists, but I sure can't find it!

Melissa,

Usually, people embed their slideshow or gallery directly into their website. Have you tried this and not been able to get it to work?

In the slideshow creator, when you publish, you'll see a button under the slideshow labeled "get code." There also a panel with a bunch of buttons for embedding on particular web sites.

In Gallery AV, if you publish to Slideroll, you'll get a button labeled "Share Gallery."  If you click it you'll get an array of options for sharing on many kinds of sites.

Thanks!

Thanks for the response Geoff.  I have a blog and could embed the gallery there as a post, but I'd like it to be a more permanent fixture that people can always access from a sidebar.  If I post it in the blog portion, people will have to hunt for it after I post a few more posts, if it is in the sidebar it will always be easy access. Thanks for your time!

That makes sense. It all depends on your blogging software.  Are you using your own install of Wordpress, or are you using a blogging service like Blogger?

Hi Geoff,

I use blogger which allows me to post a third party widget in the sidebar.  People often make these available in Html code, so aside from inserting link information, I can just post in the code, rather than write it. For example, I have a widget that counts my site traffic and a little "contact me" button, which forwards the email to my account without showing it to the public (and spammers).  Those are just two examples.  I'd still love a button for the slideroll gallery.

I also  tried with the suggested allowfullscreen and I am still experiencing the same issue as the other user...any clue?

You'll need to make sure that the allowFullScreen="true" tag is not being filtered out of your embed code.  Can you post a link to where you have embedded the slideshow?

Thanks for creating a great service, Geoff!  I've just used Slideroll to create a book trailer (as suggested at http://resourcesforwriters.suite101.com/article.cfm/how_to_make_a_book_trailer) and I'll be teaching some teens here at my library to use it as well next week.

I'm happy to see that the Video Creator is installable without administrator access, which makes it very easy for me to use at the library.  I wonder if it's possible to package it as a "portable app" that can be run from a USB stick or other device? You can see developer info at http://portableapps.com/development.

Here's the book trailer, in case you want to see what it looks like: https://slideroll.com/?s=8ewvm36x

I would love to have the "Ken Burns" effect as an automatic option.

You can do the Ken Burns effect automatically if you use the auto-creation method.

When you upload your photos, the uploader will ask you "Do you want to create a slideshow from these photos right now?"  If you click yes, you have the option to add pans and zooms automatically.

If you've already uploaded the photos, you can access this feature by going to "My Photos" then clicking "Photo Timeline".  On that page you can select the photos you want to create a slideshow with, then click "Publish" at the bottom.

Thanks!

I love that there's now a flickr import from a set. However I would like it to auto magically make the slideroll with the ken burns (pan and zoom) just like when you upload some photos from your hard drive. Is that possible. I'm finding I don't want to spend the time to manually add the pan and zoom to every single image transition + there's no select all.

Geoff,
I am a newbee but love the software.  When I drag in my 25 auto pictures for my dealership it works great.  I adjust the and re-order and go to publish to SWF and it publishes in a Slideshow viewer.  I am looking for a VIDEO looking slide show...not a flash multi-picture presenter.  What am I missing it seems as obvious as the nose on my face but I can not seem to figure it out.  I just want to adjust the transtion time and alter the transition type( from top to bottom from left to right etc.) and put a voice over/MP3 audio to each of the slides or as an overall narrative.  The book trailer above is a good example of what I am going after just not sure how to get there from here.  Is the PRO version a requirement?  I am glad to pay the $35 per year.  Just let me know! If you want a more video-like presentation, you can use the online slideshow creator.  However this does not support voiceover.

If you want to do voiceover on each of the slides, you should stick with the gallery program you are using.  You can change the layout to be similar to the slideshows, simply load your gallery and click the "Preview & Edit" tab, then the "Change Layout" button at the bottom.  There's 5 different layout choices there.

The Pro version is not a requirement for these features, however if you find this useful, you can upgrade to Pro and get slightly better image quality and the Slideroll logo will be removed from the slideshow.

Thanks!
Geoff

I would like to be able to add frames and effects to my slideshows. You should update your website also.
