Very touching video, should be played in schools to teach students the meaning and value of life for all living things, not just the young and attractive. Children learn cruelty from adults. Perhaps we can teach them the value of all living things and stop the cruelty of animals and of people.

you should change that to "society's" not "societies." Doesn't make sens the way you wrote it. I adopted a dog. LOve it.

Loved this slideshow. I have been working at a shelter for a few years and have seen and heard it all!!! I consider ALL the animals in our place as "mine". Every one of them are treated with Loving Care. Even those labeled "Caution" & "Bite Cases". ALL owners MUST & SHOULD know the information about the breed they are planning on having - all the way down to the dogs ailments, keeping their pet until it's last breath. There are too many lame excuses used when surrendering their pet... and no animal should be bought for someone else as a gift. Even puppies and kittens are returned because it was an unwanted gift. Think People! THINK...

Just loved your slideshow. For the past 2 years, instead of making donations to the Cancer Society, Ms Society, etc., my husband and I give to the SPCA,IFAW,PETA and other animal charities. I'm sure our money is well spent and that the big name charities don't miss our few hundred bucks.

First I want to cmpliment this moving video. I had to make a very sorrowful visit to a shelter today, I had to say goodbye to an ailing friend. My yellow lab had to be put down due to acute kidney failure this morning. While I was there, a man came in to surrender his dog because it "shedded too much". when the officer informed him that the dog would probably be put down today, he left it anyway. Then a woman came in to adopt a little grey kitten that she found and brought to the shelter. When she came back to adopt it, it had already been adopted. She cursed the woman and left angrily while I watched, jaw open, apalled that she wouldn't even consider any of the other kitties at the shelter. She only wanted a gray one. It's probably best that she didn'tget that kitty. The reason I am telling you this is so that people will read this and realize that not every dog at a shelter is a "problem" dog. Most are there because of some human who neglected to educate themselves before acquiring a pet or views a pet as an accessory to be discarded once it falls out of fashion or requires a little effort. Please consider an older dog or cat when visiting a shelter. I have adopted every pet I ever had, from a shelter and can tell you that older pets are alot less work than you'd think. A dog is a perpetual baby, so you will still easily bond with an older dog. They are often already house broken and accustomed to spending those working hours alone. They bond to you immediately because they realize they are in a better place and you are the reason why. They have life experience so they are trully able to appreciate the human who rescues them from behind metal bars, in a cold concrete stall. Please please give the older dog a fighting chance. You may be the only one in a crowd of visitors on any given day that will even consider a dog that is not a puppy. If you don't , who will?

When I went to look for a cat I saw the cats from Noahs Arch. I was told they were not fixed and alot of inter-breeding. Alot of the cats were small they indicated because of this. I understand this is not a perfect world do you have vet records to prove what you are stating. I just adopted a cat 10 weeks old from LB on spring. He was fostered so I not sure if he came from you organization. He has respiratory infection either herpes or cativirus. I relize now that this is my socond cat with this. My other cat Bowser when he had cancer and all his teeth had fallen out-stomitis. My concern is why were these animals not being fixed. This is #1 It's not a perfect world and from what I read you were trying to do what you thought was best. I hope things work out for you and the anaimals you tryed to provide to. Lives to short. Good Luck

This is the sad truth about how we treat innocent creatures who do nothing but love us, no matter what. What is wrong with this human race? We all can learn so much from animals if we would only allow ourselves to.
