Hiya,

I discovered Slideroll last evening and have spent most of the night playing around with its functions.  It's quite an awesome bit of software and I think it's just what I've been looking for to complete a project I'm working on.

Before I upgrade to Pro, there are a couple of questions .....

1) Does the Slideroll logo go from the first page - likewise the legend "make a free flash slideshow" from underneath the panel.

2) I'm creating the images in CorelDraw and exporting them as Jpegs to use in the slideshow, but the image quality is poor.  Any advice here - should I export them as something else - PDF etc?  Or should I originate them much larger?

3) When embedded into my site, the images are cut off at the ends - they're fine top to bottom, but not side to side.

I'm probably doing something fundamentally wrong, so forgive me if I'm asking questions that I probably should know the answers to.

I'd appreciate sopme advice.

Many thanks,

Oh - by the way, any chance of changing the green text here to black?
It's hard to read under my artificial light!

Hi! Thanks for trying Slideroll. Here are the answers to your questions:

1. If you go Pro, slideshows will no longer show the Slideroll logo. You may need to clear your browser cache for older slideshows. The "Make a free slideshow" text is in the HTML of the embed tag, and can be removed by you at any time.

2. If you export from CorelDraw, I recomment exporting at at least 800x600 in size. If you export at exactly 800px on the longest side, the images will not be scaled when they are uploaded to Slideroll, so they should retain their quality. You may also upload larger than that.

3. Once you go Pro, you should be able to adjust the size of your slideshow to match the aspect ratio of your images, so there won't be any letterboxing or margins.

Thanks!
Geoff

P.S. I'll look into changing that text color.

Thanks Geoff . I've upgraded to Pro now, but when I resize the graphics under the "settings" tab, they're still being cut off at the sides.  I'm obviously doing something wrong here - what d'you think it could be?

I think I've got the sizing issue sorted out Geoff, but here's another.

I've followed the instructions regarding adding my own sound file to the slideshow, but it doesn't play.  It's in the folder as "soundtrack-mp3"  as instructed.  Could there be be any other reaosn for it not playing?  I've checked it and it's not corrupted.

Thanks

Lee

Hi! It should be named soundtrack.mp3 not soundtrack-mp3. Also, if you're on Windows, make sure the file extension is not being hidden. If it is, then you'd actually be naming it soundtrack.mp3.mp3

Also, make sure it's actually an mp3, and not an AAC or other audio file type.

Sorry for the thread hijacker... between that and the spam it can get frustrating to use this forum as an effective tool the help people.
