If I add music to my slide show will it also be included on the video or do I have to add it after I make the video?

Slideroll music is not added to your video.  When you use the Video Creator, you may select an MP3 from your computer to use, and that will be included in your video.

Your iTunes song may not be an MP3, it could be an M4A or MP4 (AAC track).  You should be able to right-click on the track and convert it to MP3.  If you can't drag it onto the video creator, you may need to browse for it in Finder or via the browse for files button in the Video Creator.

Thanks!

Hi! Geoff,
I would like to know how long does it usually take before you can actually hear the music on your Slideroll?
However, whenever I embed my Slideroll on my blog there is no music, but yet when I return over here to "Slideroll," I can hear the music that I added to my Slideroll.(Oh! Yes, I have turned off my popup blocker.)
Thanks,
DeeDee

DeeDee,

What particular track are you using?

Can you post a link to your blog?

Thanks!
Geoff

DeeDee,

I can hear the music on your slideshow just fine.  Not sure why you can't.  Try clearing your browser cache.  There's a lot going on on your blog page, perhaps it was just taking a long time to load.

Thanks!

So on iTunes when you right click on a song, it should show the option to MP3 the song so you can put it on your Slideroll, an I right?

Yes, it should allow you to convert your audio track to MP3, which you can use in the Video Creator.

When I use video creator and the music is lobger than the slideshow you have the option of making them equal length, however I find in doing so it takes up waaaay too much memory and my computer always crashes before it's ever completed.  If you select NO to this choice, will it only use as much music as there is video?  Or will it stay on last slide and continue to play the mp3 I've uploaded?
If not do you suggest making a slideshow that is of equal length?

Sorry to hear about your trouble.  Yes, the longer your video, the more hard drive space it will need to store temporary files.  I've not seen it actually crash a computer.

If you choose NO to the choice, the music will continue to play after the last slide.

Making a slideshow of equal length will likely cause the same issues.

Thanks for answering that...furthermore, is there a way to copy and paste to make your slideshow longer...for example if I create 30 seconds of slideshow, can I just copy and paste it further in the timeline - basically create a loop?

To make your slideshow longer, simply load it in the creator and click the "Timeline" menu at top then "Slow down movie"

You can loop slideshows when you publish, however you cannot loop the resulting videos, as there's no technical way to force a video to loop.

The only way to add your own music to Slideroll is by using the Video Creator and adding the music to the video.

There is no way to upload music to Slideroll because that is against copyright law.

Thanks!

It's not legal to upload music, but you can use the video creator to make one on your desktop.
