I just added audio volume control to the Slideroll Player. Let me know if this brings up any issues with your slideshows.

Hey can I choose to upload with audio with silent by default and leave it up to the viewer to hear audio?

No, sorry... you can turn off autoplay, though. You could also use Sonific Songspots. They have separate audio controls.
The truth is out there... ;)
