I have for many years used this in creating slideshows, but it no longer is working properly (was okay in February). Now my variously-sized photos don't shrink and fill as they did before. What happened?

Nothing has changed on this end. What exactly is happening? Are the photos coming in too large? Can you make a slideshow project that demonstrates the problem so I can take a look?

Photos aren't shrinking to fit like they used to.  I've made a slideshow project called test which can be found at the link below.  It's easiest to see in the final photo, which actually has two girls in it, not just the one you see.

It would appear that flickr is misreporting the sizes for your images. I'm not sure what to do about that, but in the meantime you can simply upload your photos to Slideroll. The Slideroll-hosted photos still size correctly.

It may be that your original photos on flickr are smaller than 800 x 600 in size. Is that the case?

Thanks for the help.  I was able to upload directly and everything returned to normal, so it is indeed a flickr problem. I have not changed anything there, so I will have to contact them, I guess.

Unsurprisingly, Flickr support said I should bring the issue to you. Here is the direct quote from their email:

"I suggest that you contact the developer of Slideroll for
help. They are the real experts on their own stuff and can give you the
most complete information on their products and websites.

For your additional information, we resize your photos to
more Web-friendly dimensions. Each image has a 75x75 pixel thumbnail and 100-, 240-, 500-, 640- and 1024-pixel versions (that's the
length of the longest side) as well as your original file."

I recently uploaded a new set of photos, not previously stored on Flickr, and tried to create a new slideroll slideshow from it, but I had the same problem as before.

Is there no solution for this?  If not, I will drop my Flickr Pro account, as I don't see any value in it.

I am unsure as to why this would suddenly stop working. Since Slideroll hasn't changed in quite a while, it could be one of two things:

1. Flickr API change.
2. Flash Player Update introducing a bug.

Have you updated your Flash player recently? What version are you running?

I'm running Flash version 11.1.102.64 on Snow Leopard. Can't remember if I had updated it since I last used Slideroll, (I think I might have) but I just reinstalled it to see if that would make a difference and it didn't.

A month later, Flickr says there is nothing they can/will do, it is a Slideroll problem. I will do the direct upload from now on, and cancel my Flickr Pro account. I doubt I will ever come close to the photo limit here, but if I do, I trust you'll grant me extra due to this problem.
