Is it possible that your screensaver turned on during the capture process?  Did you minimize, move or cover the window during the capture?

Thanks!

Me again. I'm having the same problem as the above poster. I was able to create my first video after two full capture sessions as it was doing the same thing, but I can't get this one past 2 minutes and I've done it three times. :-/

Is your screen saver turning on or are you minimizing or covering the window?  Did you add any music to the video?  Are you on a Mac or a PC?

There is no screen saver and I don't cover or minimize the window; I let my computer sit for the whole duration and don't touch it till it's done. I did add music, an MP3 from my hard drive. There's about a 3-second discrepancy in the lengths and when it prompts me to ask whether I want to match the times, I choose "no." Working on a pc, window 7, using IE.

Thats the same thing that is happening to me at two minutes. I did add music but I have even tried it without the music and it stops the same 2 minute mark.

I assume you are using Windows Media Player.  At the time that it stops playing, is the playhead at the end of the bar or is it in the middle as if there was more to be played?

kmrya2 are you also on Windows 7?

Yes, I think I am using WMP. The playhead is at the end of the bar as though the slide show is done. :-(

Gah.. that makes no sense.  I don't have Windows 7 so I can't test.  I need to put that on my shopping list so I can give it a spin.

Hmm... Did you happen to notice if the capture made it to the end of the slideshow?  I mean, did you see the end of the slideshow on screen while it slowly captured in the application?

I have a feeling that Windows Media Player has a problem with the Video.  Quicktime may have a better time playing it.  Sorry about this!

The button is not active because there are no photos added yet, so there is nothing to clear.  You may simply start adding photos and you'll be on your way to starting a new project.

Once you add at least one photo, or load an existing project, the button will become active.

Thanks!

I have finally been able to reproduce this bug with the video cutting out, and have released a new version of Slideroll Video Creator (v0.90) that fixes this.  Sorry for the delay - it took a bit of doing to squash this nasty bug.

Did you download and install the video creator?  If so, what sort of error are you seeing?

If you wish to add your own song and put it on facebook, you'll probably need to create the video with the video creator, then upload the video to youtube and post the youtube video on facebook.

You're saying the save box doesn't appear "right"?  Can you take a screenshot or explain exactly what is wrong with it? Is it offscreen partially or something?

I have previously created a smaller slideshow and created a video with music no problem. However, I now created a larger slideshow with longer music and it cannot capture past 60%. I have tried selecting 'no' and 'yes' to making the music match my video with no avail. I have tried numerous soundtracks also. I even went with the soundtrack I had previously captured successfully. I am using windows 7 and windows media player. The 'capture bar' just quits moving and stays. I have left it unattended with nothing up, no movement etc. Still no progress. Any ideas?

How long is your video in minutes?  What is the size?

I've tested this on Windows 7 extensively with extremely long, large slideshows (upwards of 7 minutes to match a song at 640x480).  I experience no freeze-ups.

You could try using the default size (360x240) and see if that works.  The music will have no effect on this, because it's not added until after the capture is completed.

Do you have a screensaver on that may be interrupting the process?  Do you have power saver settings that are putting the computer to sleep?

My video is almost 10 minutes at 360 x 240. I will take off my screensaver and shut off the power saver and see what happens.

The file is an MPEG file, which is a video format that most video players can play, including Windows Media Player, Quicktime, and VLC.  It is also compatible with YouTube.

Were you able to play the video inside the creator by clicking the "Play Video" button?  If you can do that, the video was successfully created. If not, the video wasn't created correctly and there is a problem.

If the video was playable, all you need to do is save it after playing it.  Try saving to your desktop and see if you can see the new file appear.  It should be the name of your slideshow plus ".mpg" (e.g. myslideshow.mpg).

Thanks!
