Hello Members,
I'm in the process of launching a new service that will make posting Photo galleries to the web super-easy and fun. Slideroll Gallery AV is a little program you can use to create photo and video galleries on your computer and upload them to Slideroll or your own web site.
Download it now and let me know what you think! Since it's beta, let me know if you have any problems or difficulties.
Best regards, Geoff
P.S. The Mac OS X version has some known issues. I'm hoping they are resolved when the tools used to make Slideroll Gallery AV are updated.

Sorry!
There's no way to remove the link. Having that little link there allows me to offer the software for free.
Thanks! Geoff

Thanks!
I'm going to see how feasible it is to offer logo removal to Slideroll Pro members in a later release of the software. Since the program works without Slideroll login, it's going to be a little tricky to figure out an easy way to do it.
Thanks! Geoff

Hi!
Are you using the Mac version or the PC version? What sort of errors do you see, if any?
Thanks! Geoff

The save to file function worked fine. How do I place the gallery player on a particular spot of a web page. Will there be a get code option. Can you direct me to the instruction page

While I have you let me say thanks for creating slideroll and the gallery av. I use the slideroll on my sites and people really seem to enjoy it.Just wanted to let you know it is appreciated and keep up the good work. It must be great to have a job you obviously enjoy.Im a carpenter and teaching myself to build web pages. Being a carpenter sucks. Building web pages is great. I have Macromedia Studio 8 but your Slideroll and av gallery hooks me up until I can learn to build my own

Hmm...
This is a tough one... how many photos were you trying to upload? were there videos in them or did you record any audio?
Thanks! Geoff

Thanks for the info. It looks like you were able to upload the pics... I see your gallery here:
Black and White
Did you do something a little differently? I'll continue to investigate this problem, however I've not been able to replicate it as yet.
Thanks! Geoff

I believe it is a firewall problem. Last night I got that one to go but the next one did not. I got two to go this morning no problem but the third would not. I'm thinking it must be in my firewall but I am not sure. Can you direct me to use instructions for adding audio and posting on a site so it opens when you open the home page. I uploaded the file and linked to it and it works perfectly. You did all the work for us. Is there code I can remove from the file and insert in a page code so the player opens when you enter a page.

Hi!
Unfortunately there is no help or instructions yet. I just launched it in beta so that's one thing that is missing. To add audio, you need to have a computer with a microphone. Just click record and speak into the microphone.
To add the gallery to an existing page, you can cut and paste the object/embed codes from the index.html that Gallery AV creates and paste it into an existing page. that's everything up to and including:
Code:
<object... </object> |
If you place it into a page that is in a different location than your gallery, you will need to change the object and embed codes to point to the proper location of your files. Read more about that here:

Hi Geoff,
Is there a way to add panoramic photos to this (like a virtual tour) that will pan left and right? Also, I miss the music behind the slideshows as well. Will you offer that in the future?

This program does not work under Vista. It shows the main screen, but when you drag a photo to it, it does nothing. However I can load a created gallery in and it works from there.

That topic is for the slideshows, and not the galleries, however the changes are the same. You also need to add the base attribute. Pay special attention to the bolded code in that post.

Here is the code for a gallery from the program...
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet --> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>NRAA Photos</title> </head> <body bgcolor="#000000"> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="100%" height="100%" id="player" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="player.swf?bgcolor=#000000" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /> <embed src="player.swf?bgcolor=#000000" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="100%" height="100%" name="player" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> <p><a href="https://slideroll.com">Free Photo Gallery</a></p> <p><a href="gallery.xml">Photos in this gallery</a></p> </object> </body> </html>
Maybe you could show me the edits like in your slideshow post. Thanks!

Phil,
So sorry for missing this last post. Its posted in the "Slideroll News" topic instead of Q&A so my eye skips past it.
Here you go:
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en"> <!-- saved from url=(0013)about:internet --> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>NRAA Photos</title> </head> <body bgcolor="#000000"> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,0,0" width="100%" height="100%" id="player" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="movie" value="/path/to/my/gallery/player.swf?bgcolor=#000000" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /> <param name="base" value="http://www.mysite.com/path/to/my/gallery/" /> <embed src="/path/to/my/gallery/player.swf?bgcolor=#000000" base="http://www.mysite.com/path/to/my/gallery/" quality="high" bgcolor="#000000" width="100%" height="100%" name="player" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> <p><a href="https://slideroll.com">Free Photo Gallery</a></p> <p><a href="gallery.xml">Photos in this gallery</a></p> </object> </body> </html>
As far as Vista - I'm working on an upgrade now. I hope to have a stable release soon. I don't have Vista so are you interested in helping me beta-test?

Absolutly!! Would be glad to test out the Vista for you. As I said it works, just the drag and drop does nothing, but it will load a show and do everything else.
Thanks!
