Hi. I run a charity, and actually have the program Flash, but don't really have the time to learn to use it, particularly for my simple needs, basically for looping slideshows to use on the organization's website.
I'm using a mac, and although the creator has crashed me a few times, I did manage to create a short test which seems to function smoothly. However, in testing the 'get code', it seems that what is created is not a flash file but a link to your website.
My guess is that the 'pro' version you offer would create a true exportable flash file, but I'd like to confirm that.
There are other aspects, such as final file size, whether it runs alright on our site, etc, which it would be good to know before I subscribe.
Otherwise, my only concern, and it's a small one, is that I'll probably only need to create one short slideshow every several months. In the future, for people like me, you might wish to consider offering a "pay per slide show" pricing model... though I suppose I could just re-sign up for another 2 months each time.
Anything that you can say to clarify this for me will be appreciated - and congrats on a very cute and useful bit of programming.

DJ,
Great questions!
I have tested Slideroll on a Mac, using Mac OS X Jaguar. It works perfectly in all browsers, except I have found that uploading images does not work on Safari on my particular machine. The most reliable browser to use with Slideroll on the Mac is Firefox.
Signing up for Pro does allow you to download your slideshows. The slideshows are pure Flash SWF files. If you are wondering about file size, the size is displayed on the publish dialogue when you publish your slideshow in the creator. You can adjust the quality level to get a smaller slideshow as well.
As far as a pay-per-download pricing model, that may be a possibility in the future. Slideroll is geared towards offering dynamic hosting and online content creation services, so that is why I went with a subscription model.
Thanks again! Geoff
