I've discovered a problem that users have been experiencing when uploading large photos to the site. It seems that there is a script timeout limit of 6 seconds, and when users upload multiple photos at once, the server cannot resize them all in time.
So, some users have been uploading their photos, and then their photo and thumbnails stay at full resolution!! This makes for a poor user experience, and costs bandwidth and causes frustration.
I've developed a work-around that rescales the images one at a time. The only chang ein user experience is that there is a small delay when the images start to appear after successful upload.
I'd like to eventually develop a client-side downloadable image upload tool in python. But, since I don't know python, it may be a while.
