I am sure that you are already thinking about this, but I'm sure the public shows would be easier to navigate if they were avalable by categories. For creators, one could select one or several categories in which the slide show would appear when published.
For visitors, it would give a more attractive way to explore your site.
Ah, and if you do this and you have, for example, a "food" category, you can solicit food advertisers and sell food-related banners for that section.
Or maybe not! Either way, I think a browse slide shows by category feature would be way cool.

OK, one more and I'll shut up.
Images tell a story, but sometimes being able to caption them enhances the experience. I'm sure that if you choose to incorporate a captioning function into the slide creation interface, this will encourage submitters to really tell cool stories with their images, rather than just submitting pics of "look at my cat molly" (no offense intended). So if I select a slide on the interface, I might be able to enter a short caption that would appear, for example, in the lower portion of the slide, fading in and out with the slide.
This will in turn, inspire folks to do more creative work as they submit slide shows, which will draw more attention to your web site.
You could partner with sponsors and could have storytelling competitions and folks could win prizes.
OK, I'll shut up now.
I put my first slide show on my web site, if you care to check it out. I know, I removed the bottom link to your site and you probably think that's not very sporty of me, but I think folks seeing the lower-corner logo and clicking on it (not to mention the intro slide) will get the picture and come explore your world.

Paco,
Yes, I do have plans to add captioning to the slideshows. I agree with your observations totally. Feel free to post suggestions any time. They help me to make this place better. Nice slideshow!
