Some of you may have had trouble uploading extremely large photos to the site. You may have experienced your images appearing extremely large in the interface. This was due to a memory limit on the server which has been raised.
I'm sorry if this has caused any of you any inconvenience. The problem is fixed.

I'm still noticing people are having problems. I've upped the memory limit again, but be mindful if you are using a 5 megapixel or greater camera, it is really worth your time to scale the image down to 640 pixels wide. It would cut down your upload time by a factor of 10!

Geoff...does it help your bandwidth usage if we reduce the photos by pixel size and resolution before uploading? Or are images automatically reduced by your system? Also, does the system sometimes "stretch" a photo to fit a space, or is that a mistake I made somehow? Thank you!

Jillian,
It certainly sppeds up your upload time if you downsize your images to 640 pixels. The system will automatically downsample them anyway after upload. The system will never stretch your image out of proportion. Hope this helps!
Thanks, Geoff
