All,
I've implemented a solution for those of you who wish to place Slideroll slideshows directly on your MySpace blog. On the publish page, click "Get Code", and then click the link where you see the words "(MySpace members, click here)".
The altered slideshow code uses the <embed> tag to place your slideshow on the page, along with a dynamic script to serve the flash movie.
The code will look something link this:
Code:
<div>
<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
src="https://slideroll.com/player.php?s=xxxxxxxx"
id="slideshow" base="https://slideroll.com" width="360"
height="280" wmode="transparent" salign="tl"
scale="noscale" />
<a href="https://slideroll.com">Create a Free Slideshow</a>
</div> |
Where 'xxxxxxxx' is the code for your slideshow. MySpace will automatically alter this code when you post, adding an allowScriptAccess attribute, and mucking with the HTML in other ways, but it will not affect the display.
Remember, to get your code, you need to go to the Publish page. You get there by logging in and visiting the "My Slideshows" page, and clicking on a slideshow.
Let me know if this works for you!
Best regards, Geoff

Hi!
If you go to your Publish page, and choose the code for MySpace members, then it will work. I just tested it, and it works fine. If you are having trouble, try using the plain text blog editor as opposed to the advanced editor.
Thanks! Geoff

Okay.. I'll give you step-by-step nstructions:
1. Go to the publish page for your slideshow. If your slideshow is already published, you can get there by clicking "My Slideshows", and clicking on your slideshow. If not, go to the creator, load your slideshow, and click publish. The pop-up window will be your publish page.
2. Click "Get Code".
3. Click "MySpace users click here".
4. Copy ALL of the code from the form field.
5. Go to MySpace and log in.
6. Go to your blog and start a new post.
7. Choose the simple text entry instead of advanced.
8. Paste the HTML code into the post.
9. Enter any additional text below that code.
10. Post it!
That should do it, at least, that worked for me!
Best, Geoff

Hi!
Check the box labeled "Overlay Captions" on the publish dialogue in the slideshow creator.
